Punk troubadours are a special breed. Forever working on their music and almost never at home, it's a lifestyle not for the faint hearted. One man who's decided to make the troubadour lifestyle his own is Bryan McPherson. He's releasing his third record Wedgewood in June and it includes some of his best material to date.

Touring year-round, Bryan has hit the road many times with punk luminaries Dropkick Murphys, he’s opened for the legendary Chuck Berry and boasts a fan in Slash. He’s received much critical acclaim, with the San Francisco Bay Guardian praising, “His words aren’t just cerebral ponderings about the state of the government. It is one man belting—at the top of his lungs—his honest, emotional impressions of the world.

He recently performed new track "Born on a Highway"...whilst stuck on a German highway.

Bryan was kind enough to answer the introducing questionnaire for us! You can take a look at his answers below. Turns out he's more of a Bill Hicks kind of guy than Kanye West...

1. What is your favourite album and why?

My favourite album in recent years is an album that came out in the '90s called The Ghost of Tom Joad by Bruce Springsteen. I love the songs and the stories. I think it is one of the most important Americana records ever made and it is a shame it is often overlooked.

2. Do you have a least favourite?

I don't know. I don't listen to music I don't like so it's difficult to elaborate on that. I could try to think of a song I don't like but nothing comes to mind on this one either. Ok I got one. It’s a song called “Takin' Care of Business" I don’t know who it’s by but it irks the shit out of me.

3. What made you start making music?

Ever since I can remember I loved music. I have an intense emotional connection to it and I knew I had songs in me in me. Some people are just born to make music in one way or another. I'm lucky I found it. It saved my life.

4. Right now, what are you most looking forward to?

Right now I am looking forward to a few days off without traveling. A little R and R. We are headed to London next week so I think I'll have a couple days off there to maybe chill out a bit.

5. Favourite swear word?

Fuck, of course. It’s very versatile.

6. Do you have a favourite inspirational Quote?

"It's just a ride" by Bill Hicks.

7. Do you have a favourite Kanye West Quote?

8. If you weren't a musician, what profession would you like to attempt and why?

Park Ranger. Lots of trees and less people.

9. What profession would you not like to attempt and why?

There are so many I can't decide. I would say most professions. I don't like doing work that doesn't interest me.

10. If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the pearly gates?

"Hola, que tal, bien?"

Bryan McPherson's third record Wedgewood is released June 10th via O.F.D records.
