Muse Drones Album Cover

Muse have finally announced details of their forthcoming seventh album entitled Drones. The album will be released June 8th and was co-produced by Muse and AC/DC producer Robert John “Mutt” Lange. Drones is their follow up to 2012's The 2nd Law and has been promised to be a more stripped back affair.

Matt Bellamy has released a few words explaining the thoughts and ideas behind the record...

“To me, 'Drones' are metaphorical psychopaths which enable psychopathic behaviour with no recourse. The world is run by Drones utilisng Drones to turn us all into Drones."

"This album explores the journey of a human, from their abandonment and loss of hope, to their indoctrination by the system to be a human drone, to their eventual defection from their oppressors."

You can preorder for the new album will be available Thursday the 12th of March 7:30pm GMT.

The band have released the new video for the track Psycho. You can watch it below...

and you can take a look at the lyric video for Dead Inside here!

A few thoughts from the band about the ideas behind the track...

“This is where the story of the album begins, where the protagonist loses hope and becomes 'Dead Inside', therefore vulnerable to the dark forces introduced in 'Psycho' and which ensue over the next few songs on the album, before eventually defecting, revolting and overcoming these dark forces later in the story."
